Moonflower

Moonflower
moonflower
white flower cones
blossom
in the dead of night
Moonflower
sister love
your leaves
hearts of green
your stems
twinned twines
like the molecules of life
itself
you, so different
than the other flowers
no daylight beams
to urge your opening
ripening, bursting forth
no, not you
you respond to a quieter beat
a softer shimmer
a pale silver shaft of
moonbeam
dances your heart
open
